Fruit-derived stem cells for skin care

By | Discovery

Stem cells possess three key properties: they are unspecialized, they can renew themselves over time and they can develop into cells with specific functions. Stem cells are broadly classified into two types—embryonic and adult stem cells. Embryonic stem cells are pluripotent, meaning they can develop into all cell types in the body and are therefore capable of forming an entire organism. In contrast, adult stem cells generally are multipotent and have the ability to develop into the different cell types within the tissue in which they are found, a process also known as differentiation. Adult stem cells are found in virtually all tissues. Through asymmetrical division, adult stem cells maintain a pool of their own cell type to provide continual repair and regeneration benefits for an organism throughout its life span. Without a pool of effective, proliferating adult stem cells, the continual loss of fully differentiated cells cannot be replenished and the tissue soon loses the ability to function.

Plant Stem Cell Extract for Longevity of Skin and Hair

By | Discovery

Stem cells of an old apple cultivar with very good storage properties were produced by applying plant cell culture technique. The extract of the cultured apple stem cells was shown to enhance the viability of umbilical cord blood stem cells, to reverse senescence signs in human fibroblast cells and to increase lifespan of isolated human hair follicles.

Stimulation of stem cells for rejuvenation

In contrast to embryonic stem cells, adult stem cells persist for the whole life. They are indispensable to the maintenance and repair of tissues. Some few stem cells in the basal layer of the epidermis produce all the other keratinocytes that differentiate to the stratum corneum and are renewed every four weeks. In older skin, the epidermal stem cells are less active and lower in number leading to wrinkles and an increased renewal time of the epidermis. Plants too have stem cells. After isolation, they can be cultured in liquid media. PhytoCellTecTM Malus Domestica, a preparation of apple stem cells, was found to stimulate the proliferation of human blood stem cells and to increase the lifespan of skin fibroblast cells and of isolated hair follicles. In a clinical trial over 4 weeks with 20 subjects, this new ingredient was found to reduce significantly wrinkles in the crow’s feet area.

Stimuli for skin stem cells for real skin rejuvenation

The fruit of an old apple cultivar were used to establish a plant cell culture line. An extract of these cultured plant cells was tested on keratinocyte progenitor cells. The extract was found to greatly increase the colony-forming efficiency, indicating an enhancement of the stem cell characteristics. The same extract, incorporated at 2 percent into a vehicle cream, was tested in a clinical trial over 4 weeks on 20 subjects. The test cream significantly reduced wrinkle depth in the crow’s feet area. The positive effect on skin smoothness could also been shown on digital photos before and after treatment.

Safe ingredients to achieve Botox-like effect – Part 3 (Final)

By | Health Tips

This is a series of articles showcasing safe ingredients which produce Botox-like effects. All these ingredients are present in Neil Armayan’s Revesol.

In Part 3, and the final part of this series, we explore other safe ingredients which can produce Botox-like effect, hence assist in reversing the effects of aging.

Salicylic Acid reduces the chances of clog pore which may cause the small bumps on face. It is a gentle BHA that exfoliates the skin without stinging. As a result of its combination with acacia polysaccharides, salicylic acid remains on the surface of the skin to better target dead cells without descending into layers of living tissue. It is also effective in constricting skin pores, reducing sebum production and significantly improving the homogeneity and radiance of the complexion, the number of comedos and inflammatory lesions.

The overall result is further enhanced with Jojoba Oil, Vitamin B5 (D-panthenol) and Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate).

Safe ingredients to achieve Botox-like effect – Part 2

By | Health Tips | No Comments

This is a series of articles showcasing safe ingredients which produce Botox-like effects. All these ingredients are present in Neil Armayan’s Revesol.

In Part 2 of this series, we explore Acetyl Hexapeptide-8.

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 relaxes facial tension leading to the reduction in facial lines and wrinkles with regular use. It is a safer, cheaper, and milder alternative to Botulinum neurotoxin, topically targeting the same wrinkle-formation mechanism in a very different way. It can be incorporated in cosmetic formulations such as emulsions, gels, sera, creams, etc., where reduction of the deep lines or wrinkles in the forehead or around the eyes area is desired.
